115 squadron formed in December 1917 and operated in France during the last few months of the First World War. It disbanded in 1919, but reformed in 1937. It equipped with Wellingtons just before the start of the war and flew these until March 1943 when they were replaced by the Hercules engined Lancasters. A year later these were replaced by Merlin powered Lancasters. Post war the squadron converted to Lincolns and flew these until the squadron disabanded for good in 1950.
