At 0234 JU88 sighted green quarter at 150 yds, crossing to red quarter, not attacking. Both gunners fired, Enemy then seen to stall and subsequently dive in flames, exploding just as it entered cloud. JU88 claimed as destroyed at Gladbach. At 0250, unidentified enemy aircraft approached from dead astern. Lancaster commenced to corkscrew. Enemy lost to view and gunners did not fire. At 0255 ME109 attacked form red quarter up 300 yds. Lancaster took diving turn to Port, gunners fired, but no hits observed. Enemy last seen diving on green quarter. No damage sustained.
