Collided with 150 Sqn Lanc. and pilot ordered bail out. It is believed the rear turret was knocked off in the collision. The rear gunner was killed and is buried 75 miles from the aircraft crash. Crew abandoned near Laon with pilot staying with aircraft and narrowly avoiding town by pulling up at last minute. He was killed in crash.
